cPanel is a Unix based web hosting control panel that provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to simplify the process of hosting a web site. cPanel utilizes a 3 tier structure that provides functionality for administrators, resellers, and end-user website owners to control the various aspects of website and server administration through a standard web browser.

Before we begin...

Make sure you have backup all your VPS data, as following steps will erase the VPS. cPanel installation requires a clean OS.

Installation

  1. Login to your VPS control panel at: http://crypto.mydedi.net
  2. For the VPS you wish to install cPanel, click on 'Manage'
  3. Under System-Controls, click on 'Reinstall OS'
  4. Scroll down and click on Reinstall next to ' CentOS 5 - 64 bit - cPanel '
Remember that this will first install CentOS- 5 64 bit as the OS, and then cPanel above that. If you wish to use other supported cPanel OS for your VPS, then you have to do it manually or consult our support department.
  5. Leave about 15 mins for installation until you see the VPS status online in the control panel.
  6. You are now ready to use the cPanel.

Login and Use

Trial and Full cPanel License

If you are installing cPanel / WHM for the first time (not installed by us before) then your VPS IP will not be licensed for full cPanel version. You will run Trial cPanel license but with full functionalities.

Sometimes the license will be trial even though you have ordered cPanel along with VPS. This is because we can issue full license only after your payment verification, which can take 6-24 hours. Once your payment passes our fraud tests, and account in good stand, you will be informed by our support staff after licensing your IP.

You can continue using cPanel (Trial) and VPS with full extent as license up-gradation later will not harm any of your data.

Update cPanel/WHM License

Once your VPS IP is license, you need to update it. Login to your VPS via shell as root and run the following from command line:

/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

If required restart cPanel with command

service cpanel restart

That should do the work.
